Newton, KS — First Bank’s Board of Directors announced the appointment of a new director and an officer promotion at the bank’s annual meeting April 9.
Randy Pankratz was appointed as a member of the First Bank Board of Directors, filling the position vacated by Frank Spangler’s retirement. Pankratz is an attorney with Adrian & Pankratz, P.A., and also serves as a municipal judge for Halstead and Hesston. Currently, Pankratz is a member of the American Bar Association, the Kansas Bar Association, and the Harvey County Bar Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Newton Meals on Wheels and Prairie View Inc.
First Bank president, Ray Penner, welcomed Pankratz, stating, “Randy is an incredibly valuable addition to First Bank’s Board of Directors. His knowledge of the community, as well as his experience in business law, make him a very good fit for this position.”
Laura Moore has also been promoted to vice president. Moore has 35 years of banking experience and has worked for First Bank since 1996. She is currently a mortgage loan officer at First Bank’s main bank location. Moore currently serves as a Newton Chamber of Commerce ambassador and is treasurer for the Harvey County Builders Association.
Independently owned and operated, First Bank is the oldest bank in Harvey County, founded in 1873. The bank currently operates four locations and nine ATMs in Harvey County.
